Heidi approached me with a Wix website that wasn’t built for growth. While her photos were beautiful, the site itself lacked the design flexibility, technical SEO, and content structure needed to rank well and drive conversions. The pages were not fully optimised for search engines, with insufficient content to boost SEO and guide users through the site. This was evident due to not showing up in Google search, despite being more than a years old. From a UX perspective it lacked essential features like clear calls to action and strong internal linking.
I rebuilt Heidi’s website from scratch on WordPress, focusing on a clean, modern design that aligns with her brand and enhances the user experience. By shifting to a white background, we provided a more appealing visual experience, while the addition of olive and rust colour accents conveyed warmth and personal connection in line with her brand.
To improve SEO and search rankings, we took a holistic approach, addressing both on-page and technical SEO factors. We added well-structured content to her service pages, ensuring they were optimised with targeted keywords, compelling copy, and effective calls to action. Header tags, meta descriptions, and alt text were implemented to make the site more search engine-friendly. We also optimised image sizes to ensure fast loading times, balancing high-quality visuals with performance.
We added subtle animations to keep users engaged, guiding them through Heidi’s photography galleries and service offerings, and implemented a clear path to booking. The pages were restructured to serve as sales pages rather than static informational pages, effectively driving conversions.
Heidi’s new WordPress website is now optimised for both user experience and SEO. It ranks on the first page for “Gold Coast family photographer,” a competitive keyword in her industry. The design reflects her brand perfectly while the SEO enhancements have increased organic traffic and engagement. Service pages are now well-structured, and visitors are guided seamlessly toward booking their sessions.
