Quick & easy ways to boost your SEO with your blog

We’ve all heard the term SEO (search engine optimisation), but what does it mean?

In simple terms, it means the process of improving your website to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business online. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to get clicks and attract prospective and existing customers to your business.

How can you improve your website’s SEO? Well, one of the ways is exactly what you’re reading. Through blogging! I’m going to show you three ways that  writing blog posts can improve your SEO (and if you don’t have a blog on your website, why you need to get one stat!).

Keywords

Use tools like Google Keyword Planner to identify keywords relevant to your blog topic and target audience. Then optimise your blog’s content by using the keywords you’ve identified in the title, headings, and throughout the body of your blog posts.

Optimise images

Use descriptive file names and alt tags for images to make them more easily discoverable by search engines.

Backlinks

Build backlinks by reaching out to other websites and ask them to link to your blog. Backlinks are especially valuable for SEO because they represent a “vote of confidence” from one site to another. In essence, backlinks to your website are a signal to search engines that others vouch for your content.

Aside from SEO, blogging allows you to stay active on your site and show your expertise to your audience. If you’re not blogging for your business, it’s definitely time to start.
